Seattle, WA — June 23, 2026 — A sellout crowd of 14,200 fans filled Climate Pledge Arena on Monday night for the Seattle Storm’s annual Storm Out Cancer game, creating an inspiring atmosphere despite a heartbreaking 112-110 overtime loss to the Dallas Wings.

The defeat marked Seattle’s franchise-record 11th consecutive loss, but the evening was defined by far more than the final score. Dedicated to cancer survivors, patients, caregivers, and medical professionals, the event featured special tributes, educational initiatives, and moments of reflection designed to raise awareness and support those affected by cancer.

Before tipoff, local healthcare workers, cancer survivors, and current patients were honored at center court for their courage, resilience, and contributions to the community. Special guests Move for Her of the Foundation for Women’s Cancer were given a standing ovation. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to increasing research, education and awareness of gynecologic cancers.
Throughout the game, educational videos played on the arena’s video boards, encouraging fans to prioritize their health and recognize the warning signs of cancer. The Storm presented a check for $20,000 to Providence Swedish Cancer Institute’s Patient Assistance Fund. You can donate here.

At halftime, fans participated in one of the evening’s most emotional moments, standing to applaud those currently battling cancer and those who have survived the disease. The celebration was followed by a poignant pause to remember loved ones lost to cancer, creating a powerful sense of unity throughout the arena.
The crowd also gave a warm reception to former Storm forward Alicia Clark as she returned to Seattle with the Wings. Clark, who played for the Storm from 2012 to 2020 and helped the franchise capture two WNBA championships, now serves as a defensive specialist for Dallas.
