Everett, WA — The Everett AquaSox hosted their annual “Pink at the Park” event on June 19, raising funds and awareness for cancer patients throughout the community.

A portion of ticket sales, along with proceeds from the online specialty jersey auction, directly benefited the team’s partners at the Providence General Fund.

Players wore pink breast cancer awareness jerseys throughout the game against the Hillsboro Hops. Although the Frogs fell 11-3, the evening focused on something far bigger than the final score: supporting those fighting cancer off the field.

A crowd of 2,112 fans filled Funko Field, many wearing pink jerseys of their own. The crowd rose to its feet to cheer breast cancer survivors as they took part in the ceremonial first pitch. The evening concluded with a fireworks display.

On the field, catcher Josh Caron hit his 12th home run of the season, tying for the Northwest League lead. Caron was previously named the Northwest League Player of the Week on June 1 for his standout performance against the Hops.

Everett concluded the series with two victories but falling 4-3 to Hillsboro on Sunday in a Father’s day matinee.

Up Next: The AquaSox visit the Eugene Emeralds for a six-game series beginning June 23 before returning home June 30 to host the Tri-City Dust Devils, with fireworks, Mad Chad performances, and an Independence Day Picnic.
