Everett, WA – August 25, 2026 — The Everett AquaSox return home Tuesday for their final homestand of the regular season, hosting the Eugene Emeralds for a pivotal six-game series at Everett Memorial Stadium.
The AquaSox enter the series at 27–29 in the second half of the High-A Northwest League season, sitting three games behind both Eugene and the Vancouver Canadians, who are tied at 30–26. With just 12 games remaining, Everett will need a strong finish to keep its postseason hopes alive.
The matchup also renews a familiar rivalry. Last season, the AquaSox captured the 2025 Northwest League Championship by defeating the Emeralds 3–1 in the best-of-five championship series. Now, Everett faces Eugene with another postseason berth potentially on the line.
Eugene has already secured the Northwest League’s first-half title, guaranteeing the Emeralds a place in the playoffs. That leaves Everett battling for the second-half crown and a direct path to the championship series.
To win the second half outright, the AquaSox must overcome their three-game deficit over the final 12 games. A strong finish would put pressure on both Eugene and Vancouver, who are currently tied for the second-half lead.
If Everett wins 10 of its final 12 games, Eugene and Vancouver would each need to finish better than 7–5 over the same stretch to keep the AquaSox from overtaking them for the second-half title.
Because Eugene has already clinched the first half, the playoff picture becomes more complicated if the Emeralds also win the second half. In that scenario, the second playoff berth would go to the team with the next-best overall record for the full season, rather than simply to the second-half runner-up.
The six-game showdown with Eugene begins Tuesday and represents the AquaSox’s final opportunity to make their case at home before the regular season comes to a close.
