Tacoma, WA – September 14, 2026 -The Tacoma Rainiers‘ final regular season home game at Cheney Stadium ended with a 1-0 win over the Chihuahuas Sunday night.
Connor Joe’s solo home run at the bottom of the fourth inning was the only run of the game and sealed the victory for Tacoma.
Rainiers’ pitching was key to Sunday’s success with starting pitcher Nolan Kingham on the mound earning 5.0 shutout innings. Peyton Alford stepped up as relief in the sixth inning. Nick Garcia closed in the eighth, his 21st appearance this season.
In the final homestand of the season the Rainiers won 4 of 6 games against the Chihuahuas.
The Rainiers are currently third in the PCL West and recorded an overall record of 70 wins and 74 losses. It is unlikely the team will advance to the post season. Players and fans arrived early and stayed late to show support for the players and take in the last moments of the home season.
