Seattle, WA – The Seattle Seahawks are proud to host their annual Crucial Catch game on Sunday, October 11, at 1:25 PM PST as they host the San Francisco 49ers.

Crucial Catch is an inspiring, ongoing campaign sponsored by the NFL and developed in partnership with the American Cancer Society and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH). The annual event aims to promote life-saving cancer prevention screenings and champion expanded access to essential screening resources and support, especially for communities and fans who may be facing barriers to care.

Historial Advocacy

Since 2009, Crucial Catch has totaled over 1 million cancer screenings and has raised more than $38 million in donations through Crucial Catch-branded merchandise, NFL Auction items, and various fundraisers.

Honoring Survivors

Last year the Seahawks opened their Crucial Catch event at Lumen Field with a ceremonial flag-raising by representatives from the Seahawks, VMFH and survivors . Fans can expect the same moment this year as well.

Cancer survivors representing the six screenable cancers (breast, cervical, colorectal, lung, prostate, and skin) will ring the ceremonial Crucial Catch bell followed by a performance from Seattle based singer-songwriter, Allen Stone.

Where Fans Can Donate

Throughout the month of October, the Seahawks are donating 12% of all in-store purchases. Additionally, $0.25 from every bottle of water sold inside the stadium will be donated to the cause. Fans can also make direct contributions at register checkouts.

Free Screenings Ahead of the Game

Fans heading to the Seahawks game on October 11 can expect special in-game activations, inspiring storytelling from survivors and Crucial Catch Ambassadors, and more.

Free on-site lung screenings will be performed in the Ticketmaster Tailgate section via VMFH’s mobile CT trailer. Make sure to fill out a registration form in advance.

Free prostate cancer screenings (via a simple blood test) – for those with the following eligibility:

  • 50 year old males with an average risk of prostate cancer
  • 45 year old males with a high risk of developing prostate cancer
  • 40 year old males (with more than one first-degree relative who had prostate cancer at an early age)
  • Males of African American decent
  • Males who have a first-degree relative (father or brother) diagnosed with prostate cancer at an early age (younger than age 65).

Fans can pick up an “I Celebrate” card in the Ticketmaster Tailgate section and cancer survivors can ring the Crucial Catch bell.

All NFL clubs support the league’s mission of early detection and risk reduction. For more information, visit seahawks.com/crucialcatch.
