Seattle, WA – September 26, 2026 – Seattle Reign delighted the home crowd with a commanding 2–0 victory over the visiting Boston Legacy FC.
This marked the second meeting between the two clubs and the first time Boston had played in Seattle since the Legacy joined the National Women’s Soccer League in the spring.
7,116 fans traveled through wind and rain in a brisk fall storm that broke just as the gates to Lumen Field opened.
Reign City Riot warmed up the crowd and supporters waved flags, scarves and sang for the full 90 minutes.
Boston’s loss broke the team’s record-setting 13-game scoring streak and eliminated them from playoff contention. The win moved Seattle into sixth place in the NWSL standings with four games left in regular season.
Speaking of records, Reign Captain Jess Fishlock scored two goals for a career high of 52 goals breaking Megan Rapinoe’s record.
Fishlock, who has been with the Reign since 2013, was named player of the match for her efforts.
Reign goalkeeper Claudia Dickey made seven saves.
The Reign are keeping their post-season hopes very much alive and, if they maintain this strong run of form, are well-positioned to secure a playoff appearance.
The regular season concludes at home against the Orlando Pride on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
